Activity 1   Subsidised  hand-building pottery workshops

Creative Gunning is collaborating with Nawsheen Hyland from Whistle & Page, a pottery studio based in Murrumbateman, to hold two highly subsidised half-day hand-building pottery workshops in Gunning for young people seven years old and over and their parents/carers.

Participants can choose either Sunday morning April 19 or Sunday morning April 26.

In each workshop the young people will create a pottery piece that will be fired and glazed creating lasting pieces.  See below for how to participate.

Activity 2 – Pottery at Home Kits

Based on workshop learnings, Nawsheen from Whistle & Page will prepare four (3-6 minute) videos, available through her website, each enough to teach one focused technique clearly for young people at home.

Nawsheen will also develop some “The Pocket Potter” kits. Each kit will include some pottery clay, a small tool set tailored to the videos, and a step-by-step printed card with QR codes to the videos. The kits and videos will invite creative exploration beyond the classroom setting.

Twenty subsidised kits will be available for sale as part of the Creative Clay project.    Whistle & Page can also provide a firing service for people’s creations at a modest cost.  See below for how to participate.
